Description: A walkthrough of the free IIF Editor: open a QuickBooks IIF file in your browser, read it as tabbed sections, catch an unbalanced transaction, fix it in place, and export back to IIF, XML, or JSON.

IIF Editor is a free online tool for viewing, editing, validating, and exporting QuickBooks Intuit Interchange Format (.iif) files. It runs entirely in your browser — no signup, no upload, and your financial data never leaves your device.

Features

100% in-browser privacy — files are parsed locally; nothing is sent to any server.
Smart structural validation — catches malformed transactions, missing headers, and broken TRNS/SPL/ENDTRNS blocks before you import into QuickBooks.
Spreadsheet-style editing — edit transactions, accounts, customers, vendors, and lists in a familiar grid.
Format conversion — export IIF data to XML or JSON.
